The First Recruits
I'm going on holiday from tomorrow, and I'm bringing my pirate zombies to make when it's too cold/wet etc to do other things.
As of yet I've converted my pirate captain- Cap'n Fled, and a pirate zombie, just to post here how they're turning out.

This guy has a staff liberated from a chaos dwarf sorcerer (old model), and a raven/parrot familiar (not sure yet) from a Nurgle Lord on horse.

This guy is a typical zombie pirate...

The Vampire Coast
Topic: Emptying the Graveyards
I have decided to theme my army around the Vampire Coast, not surprisingly, but I wanted to do something different than the tribal Strigoi from the Games Workshop website.
After pondering long and hard (I even thought of a vampiric slann at one point- to be used a Necrarch!) I decided on Undead Pirates. I'm gonna get some Empire Militia and a box of zombies and mix them up.
The captain will be a Steam Tank commander with undead head and pirate hat, not to mention an undead crow from the Nurgle Lord blister.
If I can, I propose to make a Ghost Ship for my pirates, to stand in for the Black Coach. Any ideas on how to make this would be more than welcome.
Long Drong's slayer pirates! Maybe paint them like the recently dead, and I'll need a couple of dogs of war cannons to complete the picture.

First things First
Topic: Emptying the Graveyards

First of all the Necromancer, Gregor. Found an old model I used for Advanced Heroquest, didn't do any converting. When put alongside zombies he looks very inconspicuous, and so won't be an obvious target.
The paint job wasn't hard, with minimal highlighting and little colour variation. Again, this should stop him becoming an obvious target.

The Hellish Vigour spell is excellent, especially with lots of zombies. Imagine your opponent's face when you tell him that actually your zombies can go first! Or when you've just failed a charge with your black knights only to have them move 8" into combat! That's if I get Vanhels of course.
The only thing is- like all bound spells it is very low level. At power level 4 it can easily be dispelled, unless I try to draw out any dispel dice before using it... Will let you know how I get on with this guy.

New Blog!
Mood:  party time!
New web-log for the Vampire Coast, in which I'll be outlining step-by-step how I'm making my new Vampire Counts army, centred on my Necromancer, Gregor.
This will include battle- reports, new scenarios, modelling and painting tips (I'm no expert, but there are people on the forum who can give me the tips to give to you ;P). Tactical advice and what i learnt from each encounter.

And that's not all! Anyone can post articles here, or a series of, so watch this space!
